We clone our production data daily (tape to tape). We run 2 (week
days) and 3 (weekend) streams. We are cloning with fiber attached lto3
drives. We see consistent speeds of 75 to 80 MB/sec per stream (Thanks
Thierry for the I/O graphs in your reporting tool) and peaks of 100 to
120 MB/sec.
We don't clone from disk to tape, we stage production data to tape and
then clone. It just seems to work better this way for us.
