Recently there was some discussion about VTLs and cloning. In that

cloning was slow and inefficient - and that's NOT just on NetWorker.

What kinds of speeds are you getting with YOUR clones, and what are you
cloning from and to?

I am cloning from fibre attached Nexsan SATABeast to fibre attached LTO-4 tape drive. Both attached to the same storage node (RHEL 4, Qlogic 4Gb HBAs) and I see speeds that show the tape drive is rolling full speed (120+ MB/second) as reported by the Monitor->Devices tab in NMC.

I have written my own scripts, so I do not have SATABeast controller contention (one clone per controller at a time) during the cloning process.

I'd REALLY like to hear about anyone cloning to LTO-3, LTO-4, or devices
of similar speeds, especially if you're cloning from disk to tape.
