I realize that of course you back up the source of the data, not the
virtualization of it.  I just wondered if there were any other
considerations anyone was aware of.

That is correct, if you don't backup the source client  in the DFS
enabled 
server, then by default networker will just skip the files  & the result

is that you will not be able to recover the  DFS enabled  root file 
system.

While we haven't implemented DFS (yet), my understanding is that DFS is 
sort of a Windows version of a Unix mount point. The DFS root name is 
equivalent to a pointer, so you should be backing up the client where
the 
DFS root points at.
