Forgot to add that I did install the Update Enabler (150397-d1e144-54605f)
prior to upgrading the software to version 7.4.2

In a day or two I will authorize permanently to my host id.

This is my account of the v7.2.2. to v7.4.2 upgrade at my location. This is a
pretty simple Networker setup.

My environment:
All Windows 2003 Server(mix of Std/Ent/32bit/64bit/1 Exchange 2007 Cluster)
My Networker Server has a Dell branded ML6010 32slot auto changer with 2 LTO3
IBM drives direct attached SCSI.
I utilize 2-1TB SAN LUNs for adv_file destinations.
Index size is 130GB with 34 clients.

Prior to server upgrade I upgraded all clients to v7.4.2sp2 and executed
"nsrports -C 0-0" and restarted the service. Installed and configured nmc on
the management station.

At upgrade time:
o-I finished and disabled all backup groups.
o-staged all data off the adv_file types.
o-re-labled and unmounted the 3 adv_file devices.
o-ran nsrim -Xv(ran in about 5 minutes).
o-ran nsrck -m(ran in about 1 minute).
o-ran nsrck -L6(ran in around 4 hours).
o-stopped services nsrd, nsrexecd, nsrpm.
o-ran disk level image with BackupExec System Recovery(part of our standard
process during major software upgrades).
o-rebooted Server and tape library.
o-installed Networker v7.4.2sp2 without any issues.
o-services restarted and background index and media db maintenance began.
o-tested all library and volume functionality.
o-tested restore ability.
o-re-enabled all Groups.
o-running groups manually or on schedule caused GPF(as many have encountered),
so I stopped nsr services replaced libnsr.dll with one provided by support and
restarted services and Groups are running properly.
o-background index and media db maintenance finished about 6 hours after
install.

I tracked closely the Disk usage on my index/media database drive after
conversion and never saw it grow at all.
So far normal processes are working just fine. Last night's backups completed
without any issue and stages are running as we speak.

Thanks to all who posted their upgrade experiences in the past, they helped me
greatly.
