Folks

Is anyone running Networker on Red Hat 5.2? I've installed ver
7.3.3.-1. This is Red Hat 64 bit. The nsrd process starts up, but the
Networker server keeps reporting "no route to host" when we try to run a
backup. My box can ping the Networker server, and the server can ping
my box. I've checked the DNS configuration. I've added the Networker
server to the /etc/hosts file with both the host name and the fully
qualified name. The network folks have looked and don't see any thing.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

'no route to host' is a TCP/IP error message.

nsrd should not run on a client. Why do you mention it ?

Is there a firewall between client and server ?

What does traceroute say (in both directions) ?

What is the output of 'rpcinfo -p' (in both directions) ?

If the server and client are on the same broadcast domain (vlan), is the output of 'arp -a' shows the correct MAC address (again, in both directions) ?

Thanks.

Cathy
