you can get it in bytes all the time by using (20) but not for volumes
(written) apparently

> mminfo -q volume=000001 -r "volume(7),written(20)"
 volume written
000001 138 GB

> mminfo -q ssid=769091765 -r "volume(7),totalsize(20)"
 volume total
000001 115939361612
000002 115939361612

cheers

Subject: [Networker] mminfo and sizes

Hi,

I'd like to find out how much data is written to a piece of media (could
be disk, could be tape). So, I use mmifo. Unfortunately, it changes
the units it reports the size in based on the size. For example:

mminfo -q " volume=000999" -r "volume,written"

 volume written

000999 14 GB

mminfo -q "volume=000039" -r "volume,written"

 volume written

000039 6499 MB

Is there a way to force mminfo to be consistent?

Thanks.

Teresa
