Newer IBM tape drivers use persistent binding so they may show up as

There is a registry setting documented in the README for the IBM drivers that causes this format of device name to be used, and makes the names persistent. Each time I have used them the names have been \\.\Tape4801101 and sequential from there.

When using these with NW 7.4.1 the inquire command does not show the device name, and auto-config of the jukebox fails. This does not mean the device drivers are not working, just that NetWorker doesn't understand this long format. They can still be configured the old way using jbconfig.

In this case it could be NetWorker that is at fault, not the IBM drivers.
