We've just started using Networker. When we purchased the software, the vendor did not include licenses for DiskBackup or a Library. Needless to say, that makes the sofware useless. We've been using temp licenses until they could get us a quote for the perm licenses.

The quote arrived yesterday, and I fell out of my seat when I saw it. $5,100 for a license for our tape library. (a Quantum PX502, 38 total slots).

That seems outrageous to me. Would someone mind telling me what they paid for a library license for a library with a similar number of slots.

I try not to get involved with software pricing, but I can tell you that every time I request a new license, our software purchasing guy bids it out if the cost is over a certain amount. Based on what I have been told, the prices he gets quoted can vary quite a bit. I suggest you contact three or four resellers to request pricing.
