Thanks for the information. I'll instead have the notification call a script to write the data to a file, and then have that script do what I want with the output.

I still am wondering though - can Networker have and use 2 notifications with the same event and priority?

What I do is include a batch ftp portion in my daily maintenance and
cloning scripts that ftp the bootstrap file to another server outside of the data center (as well as mail a copy). You would be making a mistake
by incorporating an external free mail service for this mechanism into
your company's DR plan - at least that is my opinion. What happens if
you change jobs?

At the end of my maintenance run I do a backup of the NW server, which
is quick.

In the bootstrap notification I have:
/bin/sh -c "/bin/cat >> /dir/bootstrap/`date + %Y%m%d`"

If you have a DR plan of any kind, it probably would include a server
that you can use for this purpose.

Subject: [Networker] Multiple actions for bootstrap report

Hi, We are running 7.2 on linux. My bootstrap currently prints to a
specific printer, but I'd like it to also mail it to me at an offsite
email address.

I added another notification, set event to 'Savegroup', priority to
'Critical' and specified action of

        /bin/mail -s "bootstrap" user@site

That action isn't running, as I don't see any mail going out, but the
bootstrap does get printed. Am I attempting something that's not
possible?

I can mail to that account from that host using same syntax at command
line.

Thanks for any help you can offer...
