You are right. The client name is different because of the different client
ids. It makes sense now. Thank you for your reply.
I've been using saveset recover and also added the new name as an alias. nsrck
-L7 did not merge the indexes.

Hi,
As, client ids may be different between the servers you might be seeing this
errror, you might get by with applying an alias to the existing client for the
name you are seeming in the scanner.
Check nsrck -L7 cmd for possible merging the index.
Also , check the possibility of just Saveset recover from the old client.

Subject [Networker] scanner from a different server
I am running scanner -i on a tape that was backed up on an old server no
longer in use.
The client and the pool name exist on the new server as well.
mminfo shows the client name, "client-A" as "~client-A-1". (adding tilde
and dash one)
Is there any way to merge/roll the index of ~client-A-1 into the
existing index of client-A?
Networker version on the old server, the new server, and the client
was/is 7.4
Thanks
