Hi
Yes, we're using a DD580 (currently on trial). Have been using it for about 3
months now and it's been absolutely brilliant. Rock solid.

We're not using VTL's but as an ADV File type device then cloning to tape as
required for odff-site storage.
Compression is very good and we have a whole mix of data.
I'm told it's especially good re compression with Oracle Databases, but that's
the one thing we haven't been using it with.

Even on nightly incrementals, we're seeing 25+ times compression.

Hope we get to keep it ;-))

Cheers... Allan

Dear All,

My sales guy recommended to look at DataDomain device (disk based
appliance) as a possible replacement for the tape library.

Anyone is using datadomain devices? Could you share your experience please.

Thank you,
Aleksandr
