Re: [Networker] recommendation to backup 1.5 million small files?

Terry is correct here, may be something to look at.
If you were able to cut BCV's or snapshots of these volumes, Powersnap will
give you the ability to index these and track and control them with Networker.

Hi Mark
What type of storage system does this server use to house those 1.5 million
files? Depending on your answer, NetWorker may already have a companion
product that will do very useful and clever things. I'm referring to the
NetWorker PowerSnap family of products. The manuals are on Powerlink
(http://powerlink.emc.com) at Home > Support > Technical Documentation and
Advisories > Software ~ J-O ~ Documentation > NetWorker Application and
PowerSnap Modules, if you'd like a dive into the details.
I know that others have already mentioned SnapImage, so thought I'd broaden the
discussion to include these other products.
Hope this helps!

Hi, what options does networker have to backup a server with lots of small
files. Each night the backup will be 1.5 million files on two drives on a
win2003 server. I know that with netbackup i could look at flashsnap backup. Is
there a competing module that works with networker?
Thanks
