We could tell you many things...and they could have been right yesterday but
wrong today due to corporate changes.

"usually" they can charge by the tape slot, they can charge by the
environment... The magic is what they can charge is dynamic.

Call 1-877-Legato-7 they have an option for licensing.

They do NOT charge you to ask a question about licensing... Well, they
didn't yesterday. <Grin>

Subject: [Networker] Virtual Tape Drive

I would like to know and get advice on the following:

1. Will I need licenses if i add a second drive to one of my existing ADIC
SCALORS at a remote site office (currently has one drive). They want to add
another drive to it. What else will they need.

2. I want to explore the possibilty of using Virtual Tapes.
So that the Backup server can save the Data on Disk and later on stage the
data to Tape. The reason is because of the short duration i have for backup
and secondly i dont have very many drives in my Scalor. This main is a
concern for weekly full backups.

Thank you.

NB.
I am using Networker 7.3.1
My backup server is running Linux.
