Well, 2 ways are possible :

-on the storage node where the tape is expected to be mounted,
you should have an extra nsrmmd process.

If all of your drives are idle,
go to server managenent and note nsrmmd control/polling/restart
timeouts. Reduce them to 2 or 0. then apply.

On the SN, kill all nsrmmds on the SN. Networker will time out on
missing nsrmmd process and restart them. Wait. once restarted nsrmmd,
go to server managenent and restore nsrmmd control/polling/restart
timeouts then apply.

Should do the work.

Another way is, if no other tape to have been mounted on the SN,
look the nsrmmd process with started time that matches tape request
and kill it.

Subject: [Networker] Any way to clear a tape request ?

An admin was doing some restores, when they cancelled one that required
a tape not in the library... Now we have a pending media request for a
recover session that was cancelled over 30 minutes ago... Is there any
way to clear the media request ???? Short of stopping / restarting the
Networker server processes ???

Thanks,

Paul
