I upgraded one of Windows 2003 backup servers to 7.4.1 from 7.2.2 and it
was the least painful upgrade I have done of the post 7.1 releases.
Since the release of 7.3 I have either not upgraded or rolled back the
upgrade until the release of 7.4.1 (aka 7.4 SP1). The ONLY reason I
wanted 7.4.1 was because EMC eliminated (according to the release notes)
the need for ClientPak licenses (we have both Windows and Linux
clients). We have SQL clients running 4.1, 5.0 and 5.1. The only issues
I have are the same issues I had before the upgrade which are mostly
related to SQL and Windows 2003 security "enhancements".

Thanks,

Dana

Has anyone upgraded from 7.4 to 7.4 SP1 on Windows (specifically,
Win2003)? I'm hoping it fixes the 7.4 problems (such as truncating the
mailing of job logs, etc). But I'm a bit leery - the hotfixes supplied
prior to SP1 didn't help, and in fact made it worse - my NW would crash
with the hotfixes installed, when SQL module (any version) would send
completion emails, and I'd have to roll the hotfixes back. But I don't
know how I would roll back SP1, if it exhibits the same problems.

Anyone running 7.4 SP1 on Windows, with SQL modules 5.0 and 5.1 on
clients? Does it all work? Are you getting completion emails?

Thanks
