I wouldn't. I know that LTO-3 drives in autochangers (not libraries) 
disliked writing to LTO-2 media. Read it fine; writing it was supposed to 
be hit-omiss. This is based on my experience aat my old place of 
employment, and 2 Dell 8 slot autochangers (1 LTO-3, 1 LTO-2).
