 So the recover is just for a single file system? Nothing else has changed? 
Does the file system(high level directory) have the correct permissions to 
write to that directory? Can you do a backup of the server? Can you do the same 
restore and re-direct the output to say /tmp. See if it starts writing. If so 
then it is the permissions on the file system.

Yes the tapes are well in place and in the nwadmin window they are mounted so 
available.
