Usually these type of errors are caused by either:

1) Anti-Virus software that aren't configured correctly to ignore the
exchange datafile directories. Have you updated your anti-virus to a new
version or something lately?

2) A corruption in your storage groups. Usually a reboot and/or isinteg
will fix the problem. Do you see anything in your Windows event logs?

I am receiving an error on my exchagne 2000 backup. The client is
win2000 and runnign networker exchange module 4.1. This error has
started to appear two weeks ago but there was no problem before then. I
have not been able ot identify the source of the error or more
importantly discover if the error is of concern. The backup appears to
compelte successfully according to the client index.
   
  I have checked EMC knowledge base and have an open call but no
resolution yet. Any advice appreciated....
