You can do it if you want.

Nmc can  use a lot of cpu power sometimes - I moved it off to stop it
impacting backups, but then I found there's an added advantage in that
if it's separate you can run different versions - eg 7.4 nmc is better
than 7.3.2 one, but 7.4 server is dodgy.

Also - if you run nsr_shutdown on your server it stops nsrexecd and that
breaks nmc because it uses that to communicate with all the servers..
Not such an issue if you only have one server I suppose.
