Hi list,
yesterday i tried to configure NW 7.4 on Windows 2003
Server (32-bit) with a HP MSL2024 tape library and two drives
(connected via two scsi busses - one bus for each drive).
When doing "inquire" or "jbconfig" the command failed
with:
Error in nt_lus_get_inquiry; error was 1 Incorrect function
In Powerlink i found that this is a know bug:
"Fact :Networker 7.4
Fact :Windows 2003 Sp2
Fact : HP MLS6000 library with two LTO-2 drives SCSI attached to LSI
SCSI card with two SCSI ports.
Customer is having the same issue which was reported under bug LGTsc03920.
inquire, jbconfig, sji commands all failing with error
Error in nt_lus_get_inquiry; error was 1 Incorrect function on a Windows
Storage Server 2003 R2.
Cause
-----
HP G5 servers with Windows 2003 SP2 were unable to configure jukebox in
NetWorker.
The issue seem to be that inquire at discovery of devices received an
ERROR_INVALID_FUNCTION error and it then bails out.
This error is a valid one.
This was discovered with NW 7.3.2 and fix LGTsc03920 was generated for
NW 7.3.2 which has not made it to NW 7.4
Resolution
----------
Patch has been created for Inquire.exe which now recognizes this error
and traps it and continues on without failing.
Patch LGTsc03920 is provided for NW 7.3.2
Port fix for NW 7.4 was delivered under LGTsc07253"
For some reason i currently cannot open a software call at Powerlink.
But i need this patch asap. Perhaps anybody on the list can provide
me the patch.
(In the meantime i installed 7.3.3 - and it works)
