[Networker] Why does this job think it failed?
2007-10-11 10:11:02
NetWorker 7.4, server and client. Client has latest SQL module 5.1.
Having trouble understanding this. I have a Win2003 Enterprise client with
SQL Server 2000. I set up a job to back it up last night (created a new
group, and creatd a client for backing up SQL from that client). The job
ran, with these errors:
> NetWorker savegroup: (alert) ADMNDEV005 SQL completed, Total 1
> client(s), 1 Failed. Please see group completion details for more
information.
>
> Failed: admndev005

> nsrsqlsv 35 Compu
(BTW, I hate that email truncation ....)
Yet, if I go to that client, and read the nsrslqsv.log on the client, all
I see are lines similar to:
37994 10/10/2007 6:03:52 PM 1 0 0 4280 2292 0 admndev005 nsrsqlsv Backing
up niku_dev...

database [niku_dev] TO
virtual_device='Legato#a4a6262a-3869-44d4-98b4-a347a1198cc6' WITH
name=N'LegatoNWMSQL'
53085 10/10/2007 6:09:30 PM 1 0 0 4280 2292 0 admndev005 nsrsqlsv Backing
up of niku_dev succeeded.
37996 10/10/2007 6:09:30 PM 1 0 0 4280 2292 0 admndev005 nsrsqlsv The
backup of niku_dev has completed successfully
for every database on that server. For the date of 2007-10-10, I have
"backup successful" for every database on that server. Yet the NetWorker
server is listing the job as failed, and the details of that group on the
"Monitoring" have a number of entries in the "Failed" section, but no
details - nothing in the "Message" column. And nothing in the "Completed
successfully". So I have no idea why the client logs say "Everything is
fine", and the Networker server says "Everything has failed".
It ran for 28 minutes; Monitoring says the group has 10G; it *looks* from
the SQL log that everything is fine. Any pointers of where to go next?
Thanks
