Ah, got it -- internationalization support. Thanks Maarten and Stan for
pointing me to RTFM -- does wonders sometimes :-P

Ever since I upgraded our server to 7.4, NetWorker no longer sends
logs to /nsr/logs/daemon.log. Instead, I seem to get some logs in a
weird format to /nsr/logs/daemon.raw and some others in
/var/adm/messages... Is that by design? How can I again get all my
NetWorker logs go to /nsr/logs/daemon.log?
Any info is appreciated!
That information is maintained differently in NetWorker 7.4. This topic
is explained in the 7.4 Administrator's Guide on pages 585 to 587. To
view that daemon.raw file, you need to use the new nsr_render_log program.
