As far as the console goes - the one included with 7.4 is tons better
than 7.3's (or 7.2's IMHO)

as NMC's a separate install, I'd suggest giving that a try - it's works
with all previous 7.x versions AFIAK

We had issues with the 7.3.2 console. Our support at the time had us
install the 7.2.2 client on a box and use the old style console for
monitoring and it worked fine.

That's not a 7.3.3 issue - I had that same issue (cloning message in the
gui is garbled) at 7.3.2 

It usually finished cloning with no issues though

I would like to get you opinion, comments, remarks and expert advise
regarding this plan.
 
Due to a reporting issue on cloning/staging, which EMC Tech. support is
still working on, I am planning to downgrade my Networker server from
v7.3.3 to v7.3.2 and will see if  resolves the issue.
 
Details of the issue:
While cloning/staging savesets from disk to tape, the actual amount of
savesets saved to tapes is not exactly showing up on the message window
as well as the number of  savesets done.
