You are right, the media would not be compatible with the 1st database.
My thought was that if we had issues with the first Jukebox, or server, we
could troubleshoot it while the 2nd one just keeps on going...Again, I just
want to do the right thing, and the incompatibility is a big obstacle.
Any more thoughts?

E.g., is it redundancy to make sure that the backups run, even if the processor

You are talking about a 2nd library with incompatible media with the 1st. I
don't see how that provides redundancy.
