HEY T...

I don't mean to be a stick in the mud, but when it comes to ethics, why
not ask the owner of the property... In this case EMC.

EMC wants to make money I am sure, but they also need you to be
successful. I am certain in that 15-20 page licensing document we could
find it for ourselves, but sometimes it is easier to go to the source.

They (EMC) might be able to duplicate your network through Virtual
Machines and allow you access to it for testing purposes. If I were EMC
I would do that just for the happy-joy-joy feeling it would give my
customers. <grin>

P.S. Just discovered I am not the only Bullish person on the list, I
need to get back to work /waving Hi boss!

The test environment I have in mind would be just for testing purposes -
testing an upgrade, testing homegrown scripts, evaluating monitoring
tools, etc.

A coworker and I got into a long discussion about whether "delete the
whole environment and load with an evaluation license" was indeed being
legally licensed. Per the coworker, a lawyer friend of his says this is
considered getting around the licensing requirements. What do you all
think?

Thanks.
Teresa

If you are just doing testing, you don't need a paid license because
of the built-in evaluation period. The down side is, you'll need to
reinstall NetWorker each time the evaluation period ends.
