Is it possible to backup a NAS (NetApp) up to a Storage Node, either B2D
or to its attached Jukebox?

Presently we have a small jukebox locally attached to the NetApp, but
would like get rid of that.

The NDMP section of the manual is spectacularly confusing.
One of the illustrations suggests it's possible, but the text suggests a
DSA is required, whatever one of those is.

It is a very simple setup and works with no problem on 7.2.x and above. This is the client configuration:

                        type: NSR client;
                        name: fas940.tau.ac.il;
                      server: legato.tau.ac.il;
                     comment: ;
             Save operations: ;
            archive services: Disabled;
                    schedule: TAU NDMP Full on 3rd Friday;
               browse policy: TAU Browse Policy;
            retention policy: TAU Retention Policy;
                   directive: ;
                       group: FAS940;
                    save set: /vol/OS, /vol/vol0;
               remote access: root@legato, root AT legato.tau.ac DOT il;
                 remote user: root;
                    password: *******;
              backup command: nsrndmp_save -M -T dump;
     application information: UTF8=y, DIRECT=y, HIST=y, UPDATE=y,
                              EXTRACT_ACL=y, EXCLUDE=ChezyImages.dsk;
                        ndmp: Yes;
                     aliases: fas940, fas940.tau.ac.il;
               archive users: ;
               storage nodes: nsrserverhost;
         clone storage nodes: ;
              client OS type: ;
                        CPUs: ;
           NetWorker version: ;
              enabler in use: Yes;
       licensed applications: ;
               licensed PSPs: ;

As you can see the special config is the 'nsrndmp_save -M -T dump' command and the special application information (this is all described in the admin guide).

All the rest is just the usual redirection of backups to pools or storage nodes.

Traffic flows via the network and the server, storage node and devices need no special configuration.

Thanks
Nick
