Greetings all:

I have an interesting one, at least is is for me.

I have a NAS Attached to to my master server. It's an NDMP setup on EMC
Celerra.

We want to be able to restore a large directory from the NAS to a
different server, and am not sure if or how to do it. I only get the
abiltiy to restore to itself, probably because it's the only NDMP? I'd
like some validation on that.

We recently had an issue whereby we "lost" a lot of folders (don't ask
how). We had issues with doing a large restore, which we have learned
is not a welcome event with our setup. Having said that we have been
performing lots of restores.

We also created a new directory on the NAS called "RESTORE" and was
hoping to dump the directory that was lost to the one called RESTORE, so
if a user needs a restore, from that date, we could just pull it right
from the folder. The question is permissions? What should we consider?
