Hey Bob,

Hmm... not sure where I picked up that nugget o' bad info. I've never
had the occasion to try it so I had assumed that limitation to be true.
Is that functionality that was unavailable in early releases of the
adv_file type and added in a later release or something. I'm currently
running 7.1.4. I'll have to make a small device and check it out.

Thanks for the correction!

Joel

Joel,
You can use scanner on an adv-file device, it works just the
same as on any other device (except a bit quicker of course...) you
don't need to specify start file or record just the device (use device
name as displayed under devices in Netowker GUI).

Regards
bob
