Hi,
Here's what I could say about "go/no go" for Upgrading towards 7.3.x:

We're actually running two datazones, the major one is based on a
-SunFire v890,
-4x1500 MHz CPU,
-16GB Mem,
-4X EMULEX 2GB HBA's,
-10 GB NIC connected to a backup-VLAN
-1 GB NIC connected to a house-net-VLAN
-Solaris 9
-Legato Networker Server 7.1.4 (Build 577)
2 virtual jukeboxes based on 2 EMC DL720
1 STK Powderhorn (6X9940B-Tapes connected via FC-SAN) incl. ACSLS
1 ADIC Scalar Jukebox (4 LTO2 Tapes)
approx. 200 clients (Windows(xp, 2003 Server, 32/64Bit...), VMware,
Solaris 8, 9 and 10, Solaris 10 Zones, Sun Cluster, AIX, Linux 32/64
Bit, all based on SAN-and/or local Storage) mostly connected to the
Backup-VLAN, some towards the House-Net-VLAN
-DDS (for the physical devices)
-2 dedicated Storagenodes
-3 "full" Storagenodes

The weekly amount of Data to be backed up is ~25 TB.
DB's (Oracle 8.x - 10.x) gona be backed up via BMC Backtrack (using
compression)
All Backups run into the virtual jukeboxes and will be cloned "in-time"
(right after backup-comletion), done by a complex "self"-scripted
cloning/cleaning solution (nsrclone) towards the physical Jukeboxes,
perormed by a single "full" storagenode, declared as clone storage node
(same type of HW and connectivity like the LNS).

The Structure & concept of the 2nd Datazone is like the one above, just
a smaller backup-Server, less amount of clients & backup-data.

Actual all went fine and smoothly.(exept some suspected ssid's coming
up during the cloning...causing some pain...)
We're really willing & looking forward to upgrade to 7.3.x but we -in
our environment- got the recommendation (by E.. Leg...) to wait for a
more stable version.
b.t.w.: 7.1.x will be End of Support the End of 2007... I really wonder
how they would continue...
