Hm. Well, I did use "deposit" in my jukebox and it worked.

Since this jb has only one cartridge slot for loading cartridges, this unloading/loading one at a time via gui/command line is more interactive than just using the jb to unload the tapes, reload new tapes, and using nsrjb -IE to reset the jb.

Though next time I need to move a lot of tapes, I'll try this -d/-w routine and see if it really is more annoying.

Thanks,
lauradel

You don't need a silo for the -d to work - you only need a library with
an in/out port.

The volume label doesn't get updated during a regular inventory and

Yes, but HOW do you load the tapes and unload them? More to the point,
if
you are not using "nsrjb -d" and "nsrjb -w" and are using your tape
library directly to load/unload tapes, that's the problem.

Interesting. I do not have a silo, so -d doesn't apply. I suppose I
could
try nsrjb -w which may work. Annoying, this wasn't necessary previous to

7.3.2 (and I've been using networker since at least version 4). The
jukebox
has one "door" which I imagine would be the "cartridge accession port".
So
I'd have to use the command line to get tapes out, one by one, rather
than
using the jukebox touch screen & door button to remove tapes.

I'll try this, though I suspect just doing what I have been doing is
less
complicated and just as fast.

Thanks for the idea.
