Re: [Networker] Legato On Demand Backup Question

The magic command to look at is "save"
flags to consider :
-s <server> : to force save to a specific backup server
-c <client> : client to register backup to. useful in cluster
when backup has to be sent using cluster alias
-b <pool> : pool to send backup to
-l <level> : full by default, can also use 1-9 or incr for
incrementals.
Take care for incr and diif, you have to use -t time
to rely to
-w <policy> and -y <policy> : respectively browse and retention
policies. Can be a date or "2 months" for sample.
-q or -v : for quite or verbosed output
-N <symbolic name> : name of the backup (generally equals
volume/filesystem you want to backup
sample
save -s server -c client -b "lto pool" -l fill -q -w month
-y month -N "MY_BACKUP" /home
save -s server -c client -b "lto pool" -l fill -q -w month
-y month -N /home /home
Look at save mam page for more details.

Subject: [Networker] Legato On Demand Backup Question
All,
I have a need to do on-demand backups for a Unix Solaris
client. My customer has 7 scripts they need to run nightly but I do not
have any command line experience with Legato and not sure where to start
or what commands to give them for their scripts. Sorry to all you Unix
folks I am running Legato on a Windows server and using the GUI please
excuse me!!! :-)
Thanks in advance for any help on the commands!!!
Heather
