You can use the VSS option for this - your windows admins need to sort
out VSS config, I can't tell you how to configure that. The VSS option
is unfortunately a per-client thing and costs way too much for what you
get - but it works. The license enabler is referred to as 'Volume
Shadowcopy Service for Windows' it has the advantage of allowing
everything to get backed up - open word docs, outlook pdf files etc.

The biggest problem with this approach is that the whole database file
gets backed up if it changes, so incrementals are less useful than they
could be.

There is also a SQL Server module - but that's probably only worth the
effort for larger databases where the DBA's will initiate their own
backups.

And then there's the way most of us do it - provide some dump disk
space, exclude the .mdf and .mdb and .ndb  files from backup and only
backup the dumps.
