        zfs unmount <zpool>
        zfs set mountpoint=legacy <zpool>

The workaround I use is to leave the filesystems mounted via ZFS, but I create dummy entries in /etc/vfstab using a script from cron that runs prior the the scheduled backup.

All it does is for each ZFS filesystem, create a /etc/vfstab entry set to not mount at boot. With the client set to saveset ALL it happily picks up all the ZFS filesystems. This has worked fine since I set it up.

This is also using a 7.3.2 client to a 7.2.2 server. EMC have confirmed this as supported, provided the client is not a storage node.

I haven't tested the 'set mountpoint=legacy' myself, but it sounds reasonable.

David Stes
