Folks,

We are (finally) in the process of switching from Exchange 5.5 to
Exchange 2003. I say switching because Exchange 2003 will run on
different hardware than 5.5. Our NetWorker server is 7.2.1 Build 311 on
Windows 2000 server. Of course the Exchange 5.5 server is running BSM
2.0 for Exchange and the new server will be running NetWorker Module 4.1
for Exchange.

The problem is that it will take a week or two to migrate all of the
users mailboxes from 5.5 to 2003 (and Active Directory) and in the mean
time what do we do about our Exchange backup? If I install the 4.1
module and try to run it at the same time the 2.0 module is running I
believe that NetWorker licensing will disable one or both of the
backups. I'd prefer to back up both Exchange servers while the
transition is taking place.

I'm going to contact EMC support about this but I figured there must be
someone on the list who has gone through a similar transition who could
offer some good advice on the subject.

Thanks, Dave.
