Yes, and also ...

        -add FQDN for admin hosts in administrator list
        -add FQDN in each client alias field
        -maybe servers file (and restart nsrexecd)

You didn't say which OS you are using or which NetWorker version, but  
you can probably get around your employer's silly requirement by  
putting the desired host name in a hosts file on your server. You  
might also have to change all of the NetWorker clients' hosts files too.
