I don't think NetWorker forces tiering on licenses, from within the
software. If the temporary enablers were used before until expiry, they
won't work again even if you re-enter them after deleting the old
references.

I think you need to disable one of your NDMP connections. We have 4
NDMP licenses and 6 filers. In order for me to do a re-directed recover
to one of the non client filers I had to remove the remote access stuff
from one of my active clients and turn off NDMP from the preferences.
[something like that] then add the NDMP stuff to the temporary filer.

Looking at the evaluation pak ( From the back of the media Kit contents
documentation ), it says

Client Connections ( all Tiers: 1,2,3,4) part number 2032

There are 3 separate enabler codes. Maybe I have to enter all three ?

I'll try this, but if anyone can explain the 3 codes for 1 feature I
would appreciate it.

You have to have the wrong type of ndmp temp license. What kind of ndmp
filer are you trying to backup? They have different tiers of ndmp
licenses. Maybe the temp you got is not sufficient. Have your sales rep
or someone from Legato give you a tier 4 temp licenses.

Hi,

I have the following scenario.

I currently have two ndmp licenses. I have 2 ndmp clients. All is well
in the world.

I have a third ndmp client, which I need to do a one time archive
backup.

I want to run a quick ndmp backup of this system. But legato is telling
me ( correctly ), that I have 2 ndmp licenses, and 3 ndmp clients. What
are my options.

What I have done so far;

1. For one of the existing ndmp clients, removed ndmp =yes in the
client configuration, and then retried. Legato still tells me I have do
not have enough licenses. So this did not seem to work
2. Install a temporary enabler. I reran the backup, and it still
complained that I had only 2 ndmp licenses, so it seems not to have
picked up the temp enabler licenses.

Is there something that I am missing in the above, or can anyone suggest
another way of getting a onetime ndmp backup to run.

-Bob
