Just get a SSID from the volume and change the retention for that SSID.
It will set a retention policy on the volume.
Use mminfo to get the SSID and than use nsrmm -S ssid -e date

Subject: [Networker] Manually change expiration date
Hi. One of our operators accidentally changed the mode of a tape to
Recyclable. He then wanted to undo his mistake and changed the mode
again
to Appdendable. Since then, the Expiration date of the volume has
disappeared and we want to put a date back in.
I would like to know how I can manually specify an expiration date to my
tape.
Thank you,
David
