Yes, that's been noted that it does not go down when savesets are
removed from the volume, but then the same thing happens with real
tapes... The written counter on adv_file is useful only for
distinguishing the read/write from the read only devices (eg the
written>0 or written=0 query constructs)...
Afaik, the networker definition of KB is 1024 bytes, MB is 1000 * KB,
and GB is 1000 * MB etc.

Subject: [Networker] Adv_file/File Written size differs from summing
SSID totalsize ?
Dears,
Did someone notice, querying mediadb via mminfo for file or Advfile
volumes, that reported written volume size of an AdvFile/File (col
WRITTEN) to not match (nor from near nor far) sum of per ssid total size
(col
TOTALSIZE) ?
mminfo -aq volume=<advfile/file volume> -r written
vs
mminfo -aq volume=<advfile/file volume> -r client,ssid,totalsize
One of my servers gives me
mminfo(Written)-> 1354 GB ( 1 GB=1024*1024*1000)
mminfo(sum) -> 1042 GB (if 1 GB=1024*1024*1024)
mminfo(sum) -> 1067 GB (if 1 GB=1024*1024*1000)
Bug or feature ? ;-)
Thanks,
TH
