Re: [Networker] Fiber Channel Backup's

Fibre channel can replace either SCSI or ethernet cabling - SCSI in a SAN,
ethernet cabling in a network. If ethernet cabling is replaced, it's simply
talking using TCP packets wrapped in IP addressing all bundled under FCP
packets. FCP wrappers SCSI packets in the same way. NetWorker doesn't
understand FCP at all, and will simply talk SCSI to tape devices and rely on
the HBA to pass this to the device, or talk over IP and let the fibre network
card take care of it.
Cheers,
Stuart.

The problems is how does networker talk over fiber channel instead of
Ethernet?
We have our clients using Ethernet and are switching to fiber channel.
