Assuming that you have connected the devices through an FC switch, I
will give an outline:

- Zone the devices on the switch in such a way that your NetWorker
server sees both the drives and the robotics. Your storage node should
see only the two drives

- You may have to configure the FC devices on the solaris boxes and
update the LUS config file. Refer man pages for lus_add_fp_devs,
luxadm, cfgadm commands.

- Rebooting both boxes, make sure the /dev/rmt files are created
successfully.

- When doing a jbconfig on the NetWorker server, you will be asked a
question as to whether a device will have multiple paths. You have
answer yes, so you can name the same physical devices with two paths -
one as with NetWorker server (/dev/rmt/...) and the other as with the
Storage Node (storage_node:/dev/rmt/...).

- You may also have to set the reserve/release for the devices. Refer
man pages of "st".

- Double check you have the persistent binding done for the devices on
both servers. Refer any help on /etc/devlink.tab file.

Subject: [Networker] DDS Config - Networker 7.3/Solaris 8/Quantum
PX502-LTO-3/Fiber Connected

We have been having this issue of DDS configuration so both the
Networker server and Networker Storage node can share the same tape
library. Here is our configuration :

Networker Server 7.3 is running on a Sun Enterprise E250 which is
running
Solaris 8.This is fiber connected to a Quantum PX502 library which hosts

two LTO-3 drives which are connected by fiber too. This configuration is

running fine.

We have got a Sun Netra V1280, where the Networker Storage Node 7.3 is
installed, which is also connected the same Quantum PX502 library via
fiber. The objective is to use this server as DSN and let both the
Networker Server and this node share the same library. I have enabled
two
DDS licenses and a DSN license in the registration. Though the tape
library and drives are getting detected in the server from OS, I am
unable
to add/configure them in Networker.
