Interesting how EMC/Legato have broken from their past.

When I was a product Manager there, major versions were .5 or .0. IMHO, 7.3
was a major version, as shown by needing an update license.

Then it was the policy to only do bug fixes in .. releases, now they are
introducing major new features.

*sigh* and I wonder why the quality is going down :-(

EMC NetWorker 7.3.1 Service Pack

aid field efforts and customer adoption

EMC is pleased to announce upcoming availability of EMC NetWorker 7.3.1, a
software maintenance release. Based on feedback received from customers and
the field, the availability of this Service Pack was accelerated to provide
customers with a more reliable full release of NetWorker that resolves over
70 bugs and escalations.

To achieve an earlier release date, the originally planned NetWorker 7.3.1
was divided into two releases: 7.3.1 and 7.3.2.

* NetWorker 7.3.1 is planned for general availability on June 15,
2006 and provides customers with improved quality, enhanced capabilities and
better overall backup and recovery operations. It represents a roll-up of
all fixes produced in the first two quarters of availability of the new 7.3
release. There are no features or requests for enhancements (RFEs) included
in this release. It will only include bug fixes and escalations. Details of
what has been included in this update can be reviewed in the 7.3.1 Release
Notes when posted in the Documentation
<http://softwaresupport.emc.com/support/documentation/dmBrowseDocs.asp?produ
ctfamily=storage>  section of EMC CustomerNet.

* NetWorker 7.3.2 is targeted for GA early September and will
incorporate RFEs and new features and originally planned for NetWorker
7.3.1. This includes:

- Client Push for updating clients from a central distribution point

- WORM tape support

- Limited Solaris 10 zones support

- NetWorker Management Console (NMC) OS support for AIX and HP/UX

- NMC launch of EMC Backup Advisor
