Hey All,

Anyone ever had an issue of not being able to run a recover from the
backup server?  I am not able to run a recover from my server(Solaris)
for a Netware client.  I am aware that you cannot run a directed recover
from 2 different operating systems, but I would think that it would be
possible from the server no matter what the operating system is.  I am
using Networker 7.2.1

I haven't seen any other responses to this, so I'll take a stab at it...

I'm not 100% clear on what you're trying to do, but if you're trying to
browse a NetWare client from your Solaris server, and have the client's
data end up being recovered onto the Solaris system, that won't work.
Cross-platform recovers have (AFAIK) never been supported, in any
combination (UNIX->Windows, Windows->NetWare, etc.).

You *can* do recovers between different UNIX platforms, though depending
on the platform you'll probably get warnings about not being able to
recover certain filesystem-specific attributes (for example ACLs, or other
esoteric attributes that are specific to a particular filesystem like
AdvFS or VxFS).

You also can do recovers between UNIX and Linux (in either direction),
even though Legato considers them different platforms for the sake of
licensing.
