I have to add the VSS:*=off parameter to suppress the error message in
the backup logs, but I only do so if someone complains about the
message. Otherwise I ignore it. The backup doesn't fail because of
it.

Subject: [I] [Networker] VSS licenses
In the Windows administrator's guide, it says "By default, NetWorker
release 7.1 uses VSS technology to back up a client that is also running
release 7.1 and is licensed to use VSS".
I've got an enabler to add to the server. How does the server determine
which client is licensed for VSS? Is this entirely based on the Save
operations listed for each client? In other words, if I have 100
windows clients and want to use VSS for one of them, do I need to add:
VSS:*=off
To 99 clients to have that one client set up to use VSS?
Thanks.
Teresa
