Hi,

I have a volume that reports different save set retention times for about 25 of the savesets when the mminfo command is run from the server versus any of the clients. Not sure why?

If I run 'mminfo -s server -m', and I compare the output when run on the server versus the clients, I see that the output is identical with the exception that one volume is reported with a retention time of 03/14/07 when the command is run on the server, but when the same command is run on the clients, the given volume is reported with a retention date of 03/15/07. Otherwise, all other output for the command is identical.

To probe deeper, I then ran 'mminfo -s server -q volume=volname -r name, ssretent -ot > file' on the server and some of the clients. There appear to be about 25 save sets on the volume whose reported retention times are one day further in the future when the command is run on the clients versus the server.

Our primary server (6.1.1) is running on a Sun Solaris box, and most of the clients I've tested are Linux boxes, running 6.1.1. I did test one other Sun, and it reports the same thing as the Linux boxes. We also have a few clients at 7.x, and these likewise report the same thing. However, I did find one older client (not sure what NetWorker client version, but it's an oldie) that matches what the server shows. Also, I have another Sun box that's running 6.1.2, and it also matches the current server's output. This Sun box will be replacing the current server, and will be upgraded to 7.x.
Any ideas?

George
