One of the enhancements of 7.3 was to improve the way that nsr_shutdown runs.
I haven't investigated to see exactly how it works, but previous versions
simply do something along the lines of:
kill <nsrd PID>
9 times, with
kill -9 nsr*
on the 10th attempt. Or something like that - this isn't researched at this
point.
If the kill -9 from the nsr_shutdown script fails originally, then the process
is stuck in a hardware call. Run truss/lsof (from www.sunfreeware.com) against
nsrd and see what it's waiting for - it's possibly nsrjb (which isn't killed by
default - okay, forget the kill nsr*) or more likely nsrindexd or nsrmmdbd,
which are busy doing .... something else. Run truss/lsof against them and see
what they're waiting for, etc.
Cheers,
Stuart.

stuart,
have replaced the networker start/stop script with another one but nothing
changed.
the shutdown script does not successfuly complete always.
if kill -9 working on this version why the processes are not killing because
they are killing while i send the kill command.
and what is the procedure of shutdown script on other networker versions.
thank you.
