WRONG. NetWorker will always overwrite expired tapes in a library as required. Auto Media Management will cause NetWorker to label new tapes as required.

I agree. This is a common misconception that Sebastian has about auto media management. Page 459 of the administrator's guide is pretty clear about what this feature is used for. Expecting Auto Media Management to handle volumes that are (or should be) eligible for recycling is a mistake. Perhaps Legato should rename this feature or improve its documentation to reduce the confusion about it.
