Two things that were suggested to me...
In the Network Admin / Configure Tab / Client / Preferences Tab
1. Have both NETBIOS and Fully Qualified Name (FQN) in the Aliases
selection
2. In the Program Files\Legato\nsr\res\servers file, add the host that
is doing backups. I also added the client's FQN, and a few other of the
clients that would be given the ability to do restores. When you change
the servers file you have to restart the networker service.

Doing # 1 by itself didn't seem to help resolve this. Adding # 2 on the
client that was having this issue did seem to resolve the issue. This
workaround was just tested out 03/16 & 03/17 of 2006.

Subject: [Networker] W2K server backup hangs

Hello All,
Anyone found a fix, solution or workaround on this problem yet?
w2K servers just stopped backing up, stopped nsrexecd, re-install the
client software, re-start nsrexecd and still not working, even a client
initiated backup won't work. The only solution so far is to re-start the
server itself.
There is not even an error message to work on to get a possible
resolution or explanation as to why this happens.
TIA,
Librado Pamintuan
