Hello Joseph,

I'm already using IBM tape drive driver and because of this, I'm stuck with the
kernel it was built compatible to.

Red Hat ES 3 v2.4.21-32.0.1.ELsmp

The current kernel from Red Hat is v2.4.21-38.0.1.ELsmp and because I'm not
running the latest kernel, my 'up2date' module is not working and can't apply
any security or bug fix/patch.

regards,
Librado

Liberado,

Instead of going to the trouble of switching OS, why not check with IBM
to see what OS level drivers they have for the LTO drives?
