If Windows is rearranging the drive order, then NW won't be able to reliably
load tapes in the correct drives, resulting in all sorts of confusion.

If the drives are SCSI attached, then my guess is that it's a driver issue.
However, they're more likely to be fibre. You need to set up persistent
bindings using the HBA software to ensure that the drive order doesn't change.

Since you're saying that tapes aren't loading automatically, I'd guess that
drives are getting disabled due to read errors (since NW is trying to read the
wrong drive after a reboot & rearrange).

Cheers,

Stuart.

Hello,
I am having hard time configuring server (Windows 2003-64 bit-Dell PE 6850).
Windows keeps rearranging Drive order ( IBM-LTO2) after drivers are
loaded, i see that the Networker 7.2.1 does not like the drive order which
i create and i have problems with backups, recover ( even though the tape
required for restore are inventoried and avallable in the lib, they are not
being loaded automatically.
Is there better commands or utilities that can quiry drive order, Jbconfig
can run under. Need immediate Help
our enviroment.
i2K-LTO2.
