So I'm setting up Networker 7.3 server on RHEL4 and the Install Guide says that Sun jre 1.5.2_06 is required for RHEL 4. I've downloaded and installed 1.5.0_06 which appears to be the most current available jre for Linux on the Sun Java site. Grand.

The /opt/lgtonmc/etc/config.sh script that needs to be run after installing the lgtonmc-3.2-1 RPM from nw73_linux_x86.tar.gz prompts for the location of the java jre and then errors out saying that the version isn't right.

[root@dotbak etc]# /usr/java/jre1.5.0_06/bin/java -version
java version "1.5.0_06"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_06-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 1.5.0_06-b05, mixed mode)

[root@dotbak etc]# ./config.sh

The Command Line Reports feature of NetWorker Management
Console requires a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) be
installed on this machine. The JRE version should be
1.4.2 or higher, up to (but not including) 1.5.

Is there a supported JRE already installed on this machine [y]? y

Please specify the directory where JRE is installed? /usr/java/jre1.5.0_06/

ERROR
-----
The version of JRE is not within the required range,
which is 1.4.2 or higher but less than 1.5. Please
install the correct version of JRE before installing
this package.

Nice, isn't it? So aside from editing the config.sh script to avoid this version check was there another known work around?
